Swimming lessons in English

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who can join Tommy-Swim classes?

We offer swimming lessons for children aged 4+ at different skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced swimmers.

We also offer swimming lessons for adults in beginner and intermediate groups.

Where do the classes take place?

Tommy-Swim classes are currently held at several swimming pools:

  • Katowice – Spodek
  • Katowice – SP 58 Tysiąclecie
  • Siemianowice Śląskie – Municipal Swimming Pool
  • Siemianowice Śląskie – KS Michał, Michałkowice
  • Chorzów – Harcerska
  • Chorzów – SP 5
  • Bytom – Łagiewniki, Primary School No. 28

The weekly schedule depends on the location and group level. New locations and additional class times may also be added during the season.

How can I sign up?

The easiest way to register is through the recruitment form available on our website or through the Tommy-Swim / SportsManago registration platform.

If you need help choosing the right group, you can contact us by phone: +48 572 339 187 or send us a message on Facebook.

How much do the classes cost?

The price depends on the type of group and current offer. Classes are billed monthly according to the number of lessons scheduled in a given month.

Children's group classes currently cost 55 PLN per lesson.

Adult group classes cost 70 PLN per lesson.

The first lesson is free.

How large are the groups?

We focus on small, comfortable groups. In most children's groups, there are up to 5 children per instructor.

This allows the instructor to give more attention to each participant and adjust exercises to their current swimming level.

Is the instructor in the water?

Yes. One of the key features of Tommy-Swim is that the instructor conducts the lesson in the water together with the participants.

This makes it easier to demonstrate exercises, support beginners and react quickly when assistance is needed.

How do you choose the right level?

We have several children's skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced swimmers: Krabiki, Żółwiki, Meduzy, Koniki Morskie, Delfinki and Rekiny.

When registering, choose the level that best matches the participant's current skills. During the first lesson, the instructor can confirm the level or recommend a better-suited group.

What happens if we miss a class?

Tommy-Swim has a flexible make-up lesson system.

  • An absence can be reported up to 2 hours before the lesson.
  • You have up to 9 months to make up the missed lesson.
  • The make-up lesson should be booked in a group with a suitable skill level and available place.

Absences and make-up lessons are handled through the SportsManago system/app.

Can parents enter the water with their child?

No. Parents do not enter the water during children's lessons. The classes are conducted by the instructor.

Depending on the swimming pool, parents may be able to observe the lesson from the stands or from a designated area.

What should we bring to the lesson?

  • swimsuit
  • flip-flops
  • towel or bathrobe
  • swimming goggles
  • swimming cap for longer hair

We recommend arriving around 15 minutes before the lesson. A light meal should be eaten at least 1–1.5 hours before swimming.

Do you have a motivation system for children?

Yes. After each lesson, children collect stickers.

  • 5 stickers – first reward
  • 15 stickers – another reward
  • 25 stickers – main reward

The system is designed to make regular participation and progress even more motivating for children.

Do you offer swimming lessons for adults?

Yes. We offer two adult levels:

  • Beginner – for people who cannot swim or swim very poorly, but are comfortable entering the water.
  • Intermediate – for people who can stay safe in deeper water and want to improve their swimming technique, breathing, coordination and endurance.
